We had SO MANY residents stop by to grab a flyer and discuss issues and the Election! A special "Thank you" to Elizabeth, Kate, Lynnette, Rachel, Suzie and Sue for taking time to staff our tent and table and spend an hour or two helping out! Every Wilmont Event Volunteer gets one of our hot, new, limited edition Wilmont baseball caps. Thank you also to the several new members who signed up on the spot. It's easy to sign up online. A special shoutout to the Santa Monica Police Department and Crime Prevention Coordinator Suzie Lockwood for being so instrumental in helping us put on "Second Saturdays" every summer. A big thanks also to the park maintenance crews who make sure Reed is clean and safe ahead of all our events, and to the many ambassadors who are always here making sure restrooms and the park as a whole are clean for you. "Second Saturdays" are brought to you by the Wilshire Montana Neighborhood Coalition along with the Santa Monica Police Officers Association, SMPD and the Santa Monica Recreation & Arts Dept.

MODE Dial-A Ride Service for Older Adults
Big Blue Bus has partnered with Lyft to provide on-demand services to replace the Dial-A-Ride program for older adults and people with disabilities living in Santa Monica. The new service is called MODE (Mobility On-Demand Every Day), and will improve curb-to-curb and door-through-door transportation. Lyft’s flexible transportation service network will allow MODE to meet the high demand for service during peak times when members are most interested in traveling while increasing efficiency when the demand for transportation decreases.
