Wilmont Monthly Meeting Agenda - Tue June 7, 2022

Dear Wilmont,

Here's our agenda for the Tuesday, June 7th meeting via zoom. (See homepage for link)
-John C. Smith, Wilmont Board Member and Park & Rec Commissioner will be discussing Reed Park and Wilmont music and movie events this Summer starting in June.
-Marc Verville, Vice Chair of Audit Subcommittee: We heard Michael
Soloff and Sue Himmelrich speak in support of the “property transfer tax measure” in our May meeting. Marc Verville will be speaking against this initiative.
-Tracy Condon, SM Rent Control Administrator: Renters are over 80% of
Wilmont’s residents. Tracy will be discussing the 6% increase to controlled rents
effective on 9/1. The Rent Control Board (elected by us the residents) will be
holding a public meeting 6/9 to consider capping rent increases.
-Aaron Alpert: Wilmont SMPD Neighborhood Resource Officer
([email protected]): Aaron will provide a SMPD update for
Wilmont and the city. He will take Q&A.
 Thanks to local Ash Winders for working with Suzie Lockwood, our SMPD
Crime Prevention Officer, to launch their first CHALK THE PARK EVENT at Reed
Park on Saturday June 11 th from 11 – 2 PM. It will be at Joslyn Hall behind the
Children’s Playground. SMPD will be there with giveaway booklets for children
to color as well as Clayton Museum and SMMUSD handing out flyers on their
activities. This is a soft opening so please come out for it. Hope is to do
something monthly, like this, as well as summer music/movies which Wilmont
is planning to roll out. We hope this event works to keep the park more safe
for children and we will be able to have events on the lawn AND could be held
monthly with families.
 Wilmont will take a summer break in July and hope you join us for our August
